Viktor Yushchenko Awards Superior of Greek Catholic Monastery

During a work trip to the Ternopil Region, the president awarded the superior of the Buchach Monastery of the Holy Cross with the Order “For merits” of the third degree.

TERNOPIL REGION — During a work trip to the Ternopil Region, Ukraine’s President presented state awards to employees of companies, institutions, and organizations of the Ternopil Region “for their significant personal contributions in the social-economic and cultural development of the Ternopil Region, considerable achievements in their work, and for the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the region.” The awarded persons included Fr. Ivan Maikovych of the Order of St. Basil the Great, who was a superior of the Buchach Monastery of the Holy Cross for 15 years and also the director of the monastery’s Collegium of St. Josafat for 14 years.

According to the presidential press service , the president awarded the minister with the Order “For merits” of the third degree.
