Those longing for an ethnic escape should consider attending the fourth annual winter festival “Christmas Country of Dreams” at Mamaeva Slovoda.

Those longing for an ethnic escape should consider attending the fourth annual winter festival “Christmas Country of Dreams” at Mamaeva Slovoda, KyivPost informs.

On the vast territory of the recreated kozak village you’ll get a chance to reunite with your Ukrainian roots or, for foreigners, experience the holidays in the old-style.

Browsing handmade crafts at the Christmas market, sledding, singing and dancing around the fire, and eating traditional kozak dish kulish will transport you in time away.

The climactic moment of the evening will be the performance of Oleg Skrypka and his band Vopli Vidolyasova and other musicians.

Jan. 7-8, 5 – 8 p.m., Mamaeva Sloboda, 2 Myhayla Doncya St, tickets: Hr 40.
