Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has issued an order to ensure the holding of a national event, With an Open Heart to Every Child, dedicated to St. Nicholas Day.
The text of this order was posted on the official
website of the head of state on Tuesday.
According to the document, the president ordered Prime Minister Mykola Azarov by December 25 to include expenditure on the design and estimate documentation for the construction of the Mansion of St. Nicholas (Hutsulschyna National Nature Park, Ivano-Frankivsk region) in the national budget for 2011.
In addition, the heads of regional administrations have to submit by December 15 information about the number of children at boarding schools, foster families, and family-type children's homes, as well as to ensure the purchase of presents for such children.
