St. Volodymyr's Cathedral belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and Patriarch Emeritus Filaret will continue to hold services therein. The official representative of the Kyiv Metropolia of the OCU Archbishop Yevstratiy Zorya said it during a briefing.

"Pursuant to the decision of the Local Council of the Kyiv Patriarchate of December 15, 2018, St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, like all other churches and monasteries not only in Kyiv, but also of the entire UOC-KP, became part of the OCU by joining this newly formed church," said the hierarch.

Archbishop Yevstratiy noted that Metropolitan Epifaniy is the administrator of the parishes of Kyiv, so he is also a diocesan bishop of St Volodymyr's Cathedral.

"Patriarch Emeritus Filaret will further conduct services in there as he used to," said Archbishop Yevstratiy.

As it was reported, on June 24, the Holy Synod of the OCU was held, which decided to subordinate all the parishes and monasteries of Kyiv to the Primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy. Until recently, they were subordinate to Patriarch Emeritus Filaret. On June 20, Patriarch Emeritus Filaret held a local Council at St Volodymyr's Church where he announced the revival of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
