Zelensky calls on Muslims to help in "cleansing Ukraine of godless Russian evil" with prayer

President Zelensky stressed that the power of the prayer of Muslims in the holy month of Ramadan should help in the liberation of Ukrainian territories from Russian occupation.

Zelensky said this in his evening video message.

"This evening begins the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan. A significant part of our Ukrainian Muslim community, the Crimean Tatar people, is forced to celebrate Ramadan under occupation, under the threat of Russian repression and bullying in Crimea, under shelling in other parts of Ukraine and in battles on the front line," he said.

The head of state expressed confidence that Ukraine will restore security to all citizens and hopes that in a year, the entire territory of the country will be de-occupied.

"I have no doubt that we will restore freedom, respect, and security to our entire state and to all communities. And May the power of prayer in this holy month help us in purging Ukraine of Russian god-fighting evil, from those who really do not believe in anything, and that is why they are capable of such terror. May the next Ramadan begin in peace and on the entire Russian-free Ukrainian land. Ramadan Mubarak!" he summed up.
