Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that there is no place in Ukraine for individuals who support Russia's aggression and work against the nation's independence, especially its spiritual independence. He referenced Metropolitan Onufriy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
This was reported by Channel 24, citing the evening address by the President of Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky clearly stated that "there is and there will be no place" in Ukraine for individuals who support Russia's aggression and act against Ukrainian independence.
The President particularly focused on political figures with Russian citizenship and those who oppose Ukraine's political and spiritual independence.
"We continue to take appropriate action against individuals who have aligned themselves with Russia — figures with political influence and Russian passports, as well as those who work against Ukrainian independence in all its forms, including spiritual independence. Anyone who supports or justifies aggression has no place in Ukraine, and there never will be," Zelensky emphasized.
The President also announced that relevant decisions are already being made and new sanctions are being prepared, which will soon be considered by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
These remarks came after Zelensky officially revoked the Ukrainian citizenship of the head of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Onufriy.
This action is part of a broader policy aimed at de-occupying Ukraine's spiritual sphere and intensifying the fight against pro-Russian influences in the country.
