500 Candles Lit in Kyiv Cave Monastery

The National Kyiv Cave Historic and Cultural Reserve will use candles instead electric lamps for one hour at 8:30 p.m. on March 31.

The National Kyiv Cave Historic and Cultural Reserve will use candles instead electric lamps for one hour at 8:30 p.m. on March 31. In that way, the institution will participate in the ecological campaign Earth Hour of the World Wild Fund for Nature, a symbolic act of international solidarity aimed to protect the environment and conserve the planet.

According to the website of the reserve, the central square near the cathedral of the Holy Assumption will be illuminated with 500 candles instead of the electric lanterns.
