550 law enforcement officers to ensure security in Uman during the Jewish New Year celebrations

Over 550 police officers were deployed in Uman to monitor the public order during the Jewish new year Rosh Hashanah.

This was reported by the press service of Cherkasy region police, according to Gazeta.ua.

Law enforcement officers from 12 regions of Ukraine are going to Uman. The squad comprises the patrol police officers, cynologists with guard dogs, explosives, operative officers, police officers for preventive communication and air support police groups.

The police say that this year about 40 thousand pilgrims from around the world are expected to arrive. Last year 30 thousand people arrived to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.
