Almost 11,500 Hasidim have already arrived in Uman
About 11.5 thousand Hasidic pilgrims who celebrate the Jewish New Year 5775 Rosh Hashanah at the grave of Rabbi Nachman have already arrived in Uman, as reported by UNN.
“To date 11,477 pilgrims, including 20 women and 1,020 children, have come to Uman. The pilgrims have come from 6 countries: Israel, USA, UK, France, Canada and Germany,” the press service of Uman police stated.
It is known that a special pass regime has been introduced in Uman, Cherkasy region, in the areas of the highest concentrations of Hasidic pilgrims.
Every year some 30 thousand Hasidim assemble in Uman, where the spiritual father of Breslov Hasidic movement tsadik Nachman is buried. The New Year 5775 will be celebrated by Hasidim from 24 to 25 September. Annual religious activities dedicated to Rosh Hashanah celebrations will be held at the grave of Rabbi Nachman and the premises of the local synagogue.
