Ancient sanctuary found in Dnipropetrovsk region

The archaeologists found the sanctuary dated II-I millennium BC on the bank of the Kamenka River, near village of Tokovske, Apostolove district, Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine.

This was reported by the staff of the Dnipropetrovsk National History Museum named after Yavornytsky, who organized the expedition, Ukrinform reports.

According to the archaeologists, the expedition unearthed a complex of stone religious buildings. The scientists suppose that the representatives of different nationalities performed their rites there. The fragments of stucco and pottery ware, flinty tools and weapons are among the findings.

The interesting artifacts, according to the scientists, include a piece of a cup of the Bronze Age, and a piece of an amphora, likely bearing a stamp of ceramic workshop of the Greek island of Rhodes.
