Archbishop of Zaporizhzhia of UOC-MP Opposes Gay Parade

Archbishop Luka (Kovalchuk) of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate brought forward an initiative to prohibit the gay parade in Kyiv.

Archbishop Luka (Kovalchuk) of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate brought forward an initiative to prohibit the gay parade in Kyiv. According to Zp.comments, Archbishop Luka stated so at today’s session of the religious council of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration.  

In particular, the archbishop stated that he will prepare an address to Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych with a request to prohibit the planned gay parade. The hierarch also asked his colleagues from various religious organizations to sign the address. Not all the participants signed the document.
