Archimandrite of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra dies of coronavirus

A monk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Nektariy, died in Kyiv of COVID-19.

A monk of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Archimandrite of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Nektariy, died in Kyiv of COVID-19. This is reported by ZAXID.NET referring to a source in the UOC-MP.

"A monk from the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, Archimandrite Nektariy, who was an outstanding confessor, died of coronavirus!" the source said.

It also became known that the Abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, who had the previous suspicion of having contracted COVID-19, was hospitalized in Oleksandrivska hospital due to a deterioration in his health condition. Until now, according to media reports, he stayed in self-isolation.

Earlier it became known that 30 monks of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra were found positive for coronavirus.

The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra confirmed the death of Archimandrite Nektariy.
