Archimandrite Varnava (Gladun) was consecrated as bishop of Novy Boug in the UOC-MP
During the service, the hierarchs of the UOC, led by the Primate, consecrated Archimandrite Varnava (Gladun) Bishop of Novy Boug, Vicar of the Diocese of Mykolayiv. This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.
The ceremony of the nomination of Archimandrite Varnava (Gladun) as bishop of Novy Boug took place on December 12 in the House Holy Trinity Church at the residence of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Feofania.
Before the beginning of the Liturgy on December 13, the clergymen performed a special rite, which is part of the episcopal consecration. The episcopal candidate confessed his faith and vowed to preserve the rules of the Apostles, Ecumenical and local councils, and Church Fathers. The rite ended with a "Many Years" chant for the Primate, bishops, church people and the nominee.
