Bishops of UGCC Call on Lay People to Be More Active

The 55th session of the Synod of Bishops of the Kyiv-Halych Supreme Archbishopric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was held in Lviv-Briukhovychi on December 26-27.

The 55th session of the Synod of Bishops of the Kyiv-Halych Supreme Archbishopric of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was held in Lviv-Briukhovychi on December 26-27.

According to the Information Department of the UGCC, the main theme of the session of the Synod was the question of the service of lay people in the parish.

Bishop Bohdan (Dziurakh) made a report on the role of lay people in the concept “Living Parish as the Place of Meeting with the Living Christ” of the strategy of UGCC development for the period until 2020. Yurii Pidlisnyi, head of the Committee on Lay Matters, reported on the Plan of Holding the Year of Vocation with an emphasis on the vocation of lay people.
