Book Drive Salvation of the Soul Through Books Launched in Ukraine

On the day when the global community remembers the victims of AIDS, the Association of Christian Editors of Ukraine addressed the churches, charitable organizations, and all people of good will with a call to participate in the book drive Salvation of the Soul Through Books.

The book drive is held as part of the 3rd National Christmas Exhibition of Christian Literature to be held on December 10-11, 2010, in Vinnytsia. During the action, books will be gathered for prisoners and AIDS-infected children.

"We address all Christians who believe as well as us that the spread of Christian literature is the spread of the Word of God. It is the unfortunate children and prisoners who really need the words of comfort and exhortation as they are able to change their lives," reads the address.

The organizers invite Christians to participate in the establishment of Christian libraries in prisons and asylums for AIDS-infected children.

The final event of the book drive will be held on December 11, 2010, at noon in the Vinnytsia Officer's House, which is to house the exhibition on those days. The books will be passed to representatives of the charitable organization All-Ukrainian Network of People Living with AIDS.

The 3rd National Christmas Exhibition of Christian Literature will be opened on December 10.  The event will be held for the third time and has already become a Christmas tradition for the Association of Christian Publishers of Ukraine, which organizes the book fair. The largest Christian publishing houses and producers of souvenirs from all over Ukraine will participate in the event to present their new products.
