Canada will give Ukraine 15 million Canadian dollars to complete the construction of the second phase of the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.

During a meeting between the acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Rostyslav Karandieiev, and representatives of the Canadian Embassy, the parties agreed on the roles and relations in this project.

"I want to confirm that the funds - 15 million Canadian dollars - have been allocated. They are ready to be used for the implementation of this project to continue the construction of the second stage of the Holodomor Museum. Now, we are dealing with all the internal procedures to make everything happen," said Stephen Weaver, head of the embassy's international development department.

In turn, Karandieiev thanked Canada for its assistance.

"The issue of completing the National Museum of the Holodomor Genocide is very sensitive for our society. After all, it should inspire Ukrainians and the international community to establish freedom and dignity, prevent genocide and prioritize human rights," he said.
