The Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community in Kyiv, Moshe Reuven Asman, fell ill with the COVID-19 coronavirus.

This is reported by the publication "Jewish news".

It is known that he tested positive for coronavirus. The rabbi appealed to all the people with whom he communicated in recent days and asked them to take appropriate preventive measures because it can also be infected.

The Jewish community, led by Rabbi Moshe Asman, was actively involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The clergyman attracted sponsors, with the help of which they were able to reconstruct the laboratory in Uman, where tests for COVID-19 were performed. The mayor of Uman thanked the Jews who were able to collect 2.5 million hryvnias for repairs.

Also, the community supplied disinfection means and protective suits to hospitals in Kyiv and Transcarpathia, and Rabbi Moshe Asman participated in discussions on the fight against COVID-19 in Kyiv at the local government level.

The religious organization "Jewish Religious Community of Kyiv", which is headed by Rabbi Moshe Asman, is part of the OEGU.
