The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine and All-Ukrainian Congress of Jewish Religious Communities, Moshe Reuven Asman, reached out to the pilgrims who came to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah and urged them to take a test for COVID-19 so as not to endanger themselves and others.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Our Holy Torah obliges us to be very careful about the preservation of human life and health. Therefore, I urge all of you not to disregard the Holy Scriptures and the requirements of the Ministry of health and immediately take a PCR test for the safety of your health and the health of others! And also to be able to celebrate the arrival of the New Year without putting yourself and others in danger, but having joy in your heart!” he said in the address.

Quarantine checkpoints will be installed in places of pilgrimage in Uman from September 10.
