Church Building Transfered to Use of UGCC in Spain

After lengthy negotiations between the Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Italy and Spain, Bishop Dionisii Liakhovych with a Spanish monastic order “Maria Reparadora,” agreement was reached as to transfer of a church building of the order to the use of the community of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Seville, Spain.

After lengthy negotiations between the Apostolic Visitator for Ukrainian Greek Catholics in Italy and Spain, Bishop Dionisii Liakhovych with a Spanish monastic order “Maria Reparadora,”  agreement was reached as to transfer of a church building of the order to the use of the community of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Seville, Spain.

The shrine was built in the end of the last century. However, due to the lack of parishioners and constant idle time, it was desacralized and has been recently used by the Seville Town Hall as a place for holding cultural and art events.

On 2 December, with the blessing of Bishop Dionisii, the church was consecrated again and given the name of Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki. So reported Kirios.
