On 5 September, in Lviv, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in concelebration with thirty two bishops from Ukraine, Western Europe, America and Australia and the clergy laid a capsule in the foundation of the future hostel of the university campus of the Ukrainian Catholic University, a unique project for Ukraine.
The head of UGCC stressed that the Ukrainian Catholic University is something more than an academic institution. "It is a community of people, students, teachers, employees, who seek their future in combining modern scholarly achievements and profound experience of the faith of the martyrs. For with the help of the experience of the martyrdom, we can have a deeper insight in the sense of our existence."
The mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovyi, called the university campus of UCU "a town of tomorrow, which is being built on the foundation of faith and science."
