Heads of UOC-KP and UGCC to lead public prayer on Unity Day

On January 22, at St. Sophia's Square in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Unity Day will be celebrated. The organizers expect about 10 thousand people to attend the public gathering. The prayer meeting at the square will be led by the heads of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate.

On January 22, at St. Sophia's Square in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Unity Day will be celebrated. The organizers expect about 10 thousand people to attend the public gathering. The public prayer at the square will be led by the heads of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate.

The celebration was initiated by the People's Committee for the Protection of Ukraine. The idea was supported by the all-Ukrainian associations Svoboda and Batkivshchyna, the European Party of Ukraine, the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Reforms and Order Party, the Ukrainian People's Party, the People's Self-Defense and many public organizations.  

According to UNIAN, the event has been supported by UOC-KP and UGCC.

The Front of Changes will hold their own event on that day at Kontraktova Square. But in order to "show the society the unity of forces resisting the anti-Ukrainian, separating policy of the current authorities," their representatives will participate in the meeting at St. Sophia's Square.
