Hundreds of people attended funeral of Metropolitan Volodymyr

The Primate was buried in the Lavra cemetery near the church of the Nativity of the Mother of God. The responsibilities for organizing and conducting the funeral of Metropolitan Volodymyr were entrusted on a specially created commission.

In the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Caves Monastery (Lavra), where a funeral service of Metropolitan Volodymyr was to begin, hundreds of people gathered to say goodbye to the Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).

The commission for organizing the funeral of His beatitude Volodymyr includes Metropolitan Pavlo of Vyshhorod and Chernobyl, governor of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Caves Monastery; Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Administrator of the UOC; Metropolitan Oleskandr of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vyshneve, Archpriest George Kovalenko, chairman of the Synodal Information Department of the UOC; Archimandrite Jonah (Radziwill); Archpriest Valeriy Kravets.

Also, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church established the Commission to receive property of the late Metropolitan Volodymyr. It is led by Archbishop Mark of Hust and Vinohradiv, the UOC-MP official site reports.
