On September 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in a conversation with journalists that Ukraine had allegedly dismissed Russia's "peace proposals."

This was reported by the website We-Ukraine.

Said proposals were conveyed to the Ukrainian side by Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump's special representative, following discussions between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which occurred in Alaska on August 15.

Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that during these talks, Russia and the US leader reached an agreement that the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Ukraine is a violation of human rights and is unacceptable.

Lavrov emphasized that the Kremlin is seeking a “global agreement on Ukraine.”
