Leaders of 15 Protestant denominations in Ukraine urge Mike Johnson to vote for aid package allocation

14 April, 10:14

On April 11, leaders of 15 Protestant denominations in Ukraine signed a letter addressed to members of the U.S. Congress. The letter calls for increased prayer support and urges Congress to vote for the allocation of an aid package to Ukraine. This initiative was reported by the press service of the Evangelical Christians-Baptists of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Evangelical Christian Baptists of Ukraine.

The letter states, "On behalf of the Council of Evangelical Protestant Churches, representing over 8,000 churches and approximately 2 million believers, we request your actions and prayers. In the 30 years of Ukraine's independence, we have had the opportunity to preach, help people spiritually, and open thousands of churches. However, Russia has initiated a war to destroy us as a nation."

During the night from April 10 to 11, another brutal missile attack by Russia targeted Ukraine. Border regions were hit, and one of Ukraine's largest power plants was completely destroyed.

The missile strike in the Odesa region on April 10 resulted in the deaths of 5 civilians, including Vitaliy Taranenko, a minister of the ECB "Resurrection" church, who became another victim of Russian terrorism.

"We call on our brother in faith, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, as well as all Christian congressmen, to defend Ukrainian churches and our entire people from genocide," the letter concluded.
