A meeting of representatives of religious communities from Ukraine, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Belarus, Russia and other countries, which over the last five years have cooperated in the social sphere, recently took place in Kyiv. During the meeting, representatives of foreign partner organizations that belong to the Committee of Interchurch Assistance, headed by Kay Potras, analyzed the project documentation of 2001 and 2002. This news was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) on 26 November 2002.
Currently, the UOC-MP administers more than 20 social projects, supported by the World Council of Churches. “Today, Ukraine needs the consolidation of religious and professional forces as never before in order to support the spiritually sick and thus attest to the charitable nature of the church,” said Protodeacon Serhii Kosovskyi, coordinator of social programs of the UOC-MP.
