Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhzhia (UOC-MP) claims that the OCU is not a Church

Metropolitan Luka (Kovalenko) of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol refuses to join the OCU as he does not consider it a Church.
He stated this during a live broadcast, answering questions from Forpost journalists.
According to the Metropolitan, the OCU is a religious organization.
“I am a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and shall remain one. I cannot join the Church offered to me, for it is a religious organization, not a Church. I cannot call it a Church in the sense of “Christ's” Church, for Christ doesn't beat and doesn't drive anyone away,” he replied.
Prior to this, Metropolitan Luka called the OCU “an experimental platform for a new union.”
