The participants of the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church decided to establish a church patriarchal award named Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky’s Order. According to the UGCC, this distinction will promote paying worthy tribute to the figure of Metropolitan Andrey and his cause.

As reported by RISU, from 2 to 11 September 2018, the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC took place in Lviv-Bryukhovychi, with 42 archbishops from Ukraine and abroad participating.
