On December 8, the Sunday after the Nativity and the feast of the Holy Virgin, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Volodymyr celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral church of the Holy Intercession Convent of Kyiv.
The hierarch served in concelebration with Archbishop Aleksander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy and Vyshneve and clergymen of the monastery, reported the website of the UOC-MP.
During the service, the metropolitan awarded archdeacon Serhiy Kosovskyy the distinction of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diaconal ordination.
After the celebration, at the hegumen's block of the monastery, Metropolitan Volodymyr congratulated Mother Superior hegumeness Calisthene (Shamaylo) and nuns on the feast of the Nativity. After the nuns sang Christmas carols, Metropolitan Volodymyr presented gifts to them.
One should note that Metropolitan Volodymyr has celebrated the first Divine Liturgy in the last 2.5 months, since he underwent treatment in a hospital of Kyiv.
