Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Moscow Patriarchate Blesses Newly Appointed Head of the Kyiv City State Administration

On November 18, Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate received at his residence at the Kyiv Cave Monastery the newly appointed head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov.

On November 18, Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate received at his residence at the Kyiv Cave Monastery the newly appointed head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, OBL news reports.

Patriarch Volodymyr greeted Oleksandr Popov on his appointment to the post, blessed his further work, and gifted him an icon of the Mother of God of Jerusalem.

In the course of conversation with Metropolitan Volodymyr, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration assured that not by words, but by actions, he will help revive spirituality in Kyiv and will render assistance to the church in implementing social projects aimed at developing the city and the Kyiv residents.

Also the parties analyzed the relations of the Kyiv city authorities and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the past and considered the perspective of developing cooperation in the future. Besides, Oleksandr Popov shared the problems and achievments of the work of the city administration.

Finally, the head of the Kyiv city state administration prayed at the St. Nicholas Church located on the primate’s residence.
