The primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr, and Bishop Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail participated in the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
ST. PETERSBURG – The primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr, and Bishop Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail participated in the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church held on May 31, 2010, in St. Petersburg.
As reports the press service of the Moscow Patriarchate, first of all, the members of the Synod thanked God for the visit to Russia of Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople. They also marked the importance of the visit and its great significance “for strengthening of the inter-Orthodox unity and brotherly relations between the two churches.”
