KYIV-MOSCOW — On January 29, 2010, in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, under the presidency of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill, the session of the presidium of the Inter-Conciliar Assembly began, reports the Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) web site.
Taking part in the session were Metropolitan Volodymyr, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, and Archbishop Anthony of Boryspil, the head of the Theological Canonical Commission to the Holy Synod of the UOC-MP, and rector of Kyiv Theological Schools.
On January 28 Metropolitan Volodymyr made a visit to the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra, where he bowed unto the relics of the Venerable Sergius of Radonezh. By tradition the primate visited all the monastery churches and prayed at their shrines.
The primate of the UOC-MP was accompanied by the secretary for the primate, Bishop Alexander of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy.
Metropolitan Volodymyr also visited the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary, where he had been rector for 10 years (1973 through 1982).
