The Ministry noted that only seven of the 49 religious communities of the Crimean diocese of the OCU remain in Crimea, and only four of the 23 clergymen stay there.
The occupation authorities in Crimea continue to systematically oppress religious communities of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine on the territory of the Peninsula. This was announced on April 21 by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Facebook.
As the Ministry noted, only seven of the 49 religious communities of the Crimean diocese of the OCU remain in Crimea, and only four of the 23 clergymen stay there.
"We call on the international community to continue to put pressure on the occupation authorities to stop the repression on the occupied Peninsula," the Foreign Ministry added.
The Ministry also posted a photo of the Cathedral of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles princes Volodymyr and Olga of OCU in Simferopol.
The so-called Arbitration Court in Crimea took seized it from the OCU.
In December 2019, Archbishop Klyment of the DIocese of Crimea of the OCU said that the property of the Church was "looted and broken". Due to the situation with the Cathedral, Archbishop Klyment declared an indefinite hunger strike in Kyiv to stop religious repression in Crimea.
