Cindie Pike, serving with her husband Mel Pike with the PCA’s Mission to the World (MTW) in Kherson, Ukraine, died after a fall in December 31, 2012, The Aquila Report informs. As reported by a colleague, Cindie “fell today and her artificial knee joint failed and destroyed part of her femur. She lost a lot of blood before the ambulance came.” She was taken to ICU and plans were being made to evacuate her out of the country to receive the urgent care she needed.

On January 1, 2013, Mel posted this on Cindie’s Facebook page, “This is Mel, Cindie’s husband, writing on her behalf. She is now in Heaven. I’m sorry for this horrible news. She fell yesterday and her artificial knee twisted and cut a vein. She simply lost too much blood to recover. Please pray for me, three kids and two grand kids and a huge extended family.”
