Muslim Shrine Azizler Vandalized in Crimea

During the night of August 31 – September 1, 2012, the fence of the shrine Azizler was damaged and a swastika was drawn in the memorial stone by unknown persons, the web page of Mejlis informs.

Just another act of vandalism was committed in Qarasubazar at the tomb of three St. ulems: AZIZ – OSMAN DEVLETLI, AZIZ – SILVE DEVETLI (9th century) and AZIZ – UMER DEVLETLI (12th century).

According to the MP of the VR ARC, the head of the Department of Culture and Education of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Safure Kadzhametova, the security service came to the site only at 3:00 p.m. after her phone call to the Head of the Regional State Administration Oleg Rusetsky.

The officers of security service and Ministry of Internal Affairs took pictures and video of the vandalism. A criminal case was opened in compliance with the Art. 297, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - vandalism of graves.
