Negotiations to be conducted between Ukraine's president and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow

On Sunday, Viktor Yanukovych and Patriarch Kirill will hold a 20-minute meeting. The subject of the negotiations has not been announced.

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church will stay in Bukovyna region of Ukraine for two days, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported with reference to the regional state administration. Patriarch Kirill will arrive on Saturday, on October 1, at 4 p.m. He will be met at the airport by the leadership of the region.  

At 5 p.m., the hierarch will serve a night service at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Chernivtsi.

On October 2, in the morning, the head of the ROC will consecrate the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Bancheny. President Yanukovych will attend the event.

It is planned that Ukraine’s president and Patriarch Kirill will visit a children’s asylum founded by the superior of the monastery, Fr. Mykhailo Zhar.
