The new Apostolic Administrator of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Mukachevo, Bishop Nil, was inaugurated in Uzhgorod.
The solemn ceremony took place on September 27 at the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
More than 70 priests came to congratulate Bishop Nil on his accession to the episcopal throne, Susilne Zakarpattia informs.
"Matins with the rite of taking out the Life-Giving Cross. The hierarchical service of God during which a decree was read appointing the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Mukachevo, His Grace Bishop Nil, CHMB to the governance," the message reads.
Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Mukachevo Nil (Lushchak) was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Mukachevo on July 20, 2020, by Pope Francis in connection with the early death of Bishop Milan Shashik.
