New Premier Asks Metropolitan Sabodan (UOC-MP) For Blessing

Victor Yanukovych, newly appointed prime minister of Ukraine, visited Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan), head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), to receive his blessing for the post. This news was reported on 22 November 2002 by the press service of the UOC-MP.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Sabodan wished Premier Yanukovych all successes. Yanukovych is a holder of three church orders, including the Ukrainian Orthodox orders of Grand Prince St. Volodymyr and St. Nestor the Annalist, and the Russian Orthodox order of Prince St. Daniil of Moscow.
