No construction to be carried out near Tithe Church without permission of authorities

The head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), Oleksandr Popov, said today at a press conference that no construction will be carried out on the foundation of the Tithe Church without the permission of the authorities of the capital and building experts, Unian.net reports.

According to the official, the city authorities intend to transform the territory of the Tithe Church together with Podol into a pedestrian area and preserve its value.

“As for the Tithe Church, archeologists are finishing their work there and will continue. The decision regarding further use of the site will be made by experts,” said Popov.

“I can assure you that without the appropriate decisions of the city council and decisions made at the level of KCSA, no reconstruction, construction, renovation will be carried out and not only at this site,” stressed Popov.
