The Holy Synod of the OCU, which took place today, November 7, in Kyiv, is disappointed with the lack of response from the hierarchs of the UOC-MP to the call to start a dialogue without preconditions.
This is stated in the decisions of the Synod.
The appeal to Primate Onufriy and the hierarchy of the UOC-MP to start negotiations was made public on August 15 this year. However, it remains unanswered.
“The Holy Synod is deeply disappointed with the complete lack of response from the addressee of the Appeal, which reminds us of the words of Scripture: “We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept” (Luke 7:32). However, the Synod does not give up hope of receiving a constructive response to the Appeal and taking positive steps both from Metropolitan Onufriy and from the representatives of the jurisdiction he heads,” the OCU emphasizes.
