On July 14, Russian troops launched a missile strike on Vinnytsia, as a result of which people were wounded and killed. The missile hit a crowded place: near a shopping center, Officers' House, Maternity Hospital, Medical Facility, residential buildings and other civilian facilities.
20 deaths, including three children, have been confirmed. About 90 people were delivered to hospitals, 50 of them in serious condition.
Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar performed a funeral service at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia for the victims, and also sent a prayer service for the health of the wounded, reports the website of the diocese.
Metropolitan Symeon expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and, together with the clergy and faithful, will pray for the health of all those affected by the act of Russian terror in Vinnytsia in the following days.
"God's punishment will certainly befall those who commit such terrible murders in peaceful cities and try to intimidate Ukrainians with these acts of terror. The enemy will not succeed, despite all his efforts, in killing the desire for freedom that has lived in the hearts of our people for centuries, and for which we are fighting today. And Ukraine will certainly defeat the Russian aggressor!" Metropolitan Symeon stressed in his speech after the prayer.
