The Orthodox Church of Ukraine commented on the statement of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate, adopted April 3 at the Synod, demanding to revoke the Tomos. The text of the document is published on the official page of the OCU.

“There is no reason to revoke the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, no matter how hard the Kremlin sought it and however much the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine disseminate such ideas,” the OCU states.

The comment says that the text of the UOC-MP's statement contains “lies and manipulations, which are apparently intended to confuse readers who are not familiar with the real state of affairs in the church milieu in Ukraine and in the world.”

The OCU also argue that “certain pro-Russian media outlets report conflicts related to the transition of communities, but it is evident that these are not large scale conflicts, but those artificially created by the Russian Church in Ukraine.”
