"We are grateful to our Orthodox brothers and personally to His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos for their support through the difficult time of formation and pray for them in our turn, for the entire Church of Cyprus and the pious people of Cyprus," the OCU responded to its recognition by the Orthodox Church of Cyprus.

As reported, today, October 24, during the Synodal joint Liturgy at the monastery of Our Lady Chrysorogiatissa, located in the city of Pathos, Paphos, for the first time during the Great Entrance, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Nova Justiniana and all Cyprus mentioned in the Diptych the name of Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine as the Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Thus, the Church of Cyprus, which is one of the oldest local churches, was recognized as autocephalous at the third Ecumenical Council, holding the 10th place in the diptych, joined the recognition of the Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and became the fourth church that recognizes the local OCU after the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Church of Greece and the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
