Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew said that the war against Ukraine is not holy but diabolical, recalling the words and justification of Russian aggression by Moscow Patriarch Kirill in the speech he delivered after the thanksgiving prayer (Doxology) in the Cathedral of the Apostle Paul in the city of Kavala.

This is reported by Religiyna Pravda.

As previously reported, the official visit of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to Greece is in progress, with Metropolitan Epifaniy and the delegation of our Church taking part in a number of events.

In his speech, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew thanked Metropolitan Stephanos and all those who made this visit possible. Among other topics, he also mentioned the Ukrainian issue. "Last year, at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, we were present in Kyiv at the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Independence. Who could have imagined such great suffering and sorrow? Patriarch of Moscow Kirill justifies this war and calls it sacred. But I say this war is not holy – it is diabolical!" The Patriarch emphasized.

"The Church of Ukraine has a rich and ancient history, and history cannot be reversed. Only Jordan turned back, and everything that was done for the Church of Ukraine will not change! We love and appreciate the Church of Ukraine and its Primate, who, despite everything, was able to come here to share prayer and the joy of communication with us," said Bartholomew.
