Patriarch Filaret bestowed church order on Minister of Culture for Euromaidan

The Primate of the Kyiv Patriarchate met on July 11 with Ukrainian Minister of Culture Yevhen Nishchuk. He thanked the minister for active civic and patriotic stance manifested during Euromaidan as well as for the support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the UOC-KP official website reports.

The Primate of the Kyiv Patriarchate met on July 11 with Ukrainian Minister of Culture Yevhen Nishchuk. He thanked the minister for active civic and patriotic stance manifested during Euromaidan as well as for the support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the UOC-KP official website reports. 

The First Hierarch conferred on the minister the order of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir of the III degree and granted a patriarchal letter of recognition to Minister’s press-secretary Yulia Datsenko.

Besides, Patriarch Filaret talked over with the Minister of Culture the situation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate in the temporarily occupied territory in Crimea and Donbass.
