Patriarch Kirill of Moscow to Come to Ukraine for President of Ukraine’s Inauguration Ceremony

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will preside over the prayer service at the Kyiv Cave Monastery on February 25, 2010, preceding the ceremony of the presidential inauguration.

MOSCOW-KYIV – At the invitation of the President-Elect of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will preside over the prayer service at the Kyiv Cave Monastery on February 25, 2010, preceding the ceremony of the presidential inauguration, the press service of the Patriarch of Moscow reports.    

Patriarch Kirill will perform worship together with the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Volodymyr.  

Following the prayer service and the greeting word of the Patriarch, Yanukovych will leave for the Supreme Council (Verkhovna Rada) of Ukraine, where he is to take the presidential oath, laying hands on the historical Peresopnytsia Gospels.
