In Kharkiv region, a man got a criminal record because of the leaflets that humiliate Muslims

The man produced leaflets that violate the rights and freedoms of people who practice Islam.

This is stated in the verdict of the Kupyansk city district court, Depo.Kharkiv has reported.

According to the court, on January 10, 2020, the accused printed some A4 leaflets at home that violate the rights and freedoms of people who practice Islam and have signs of inciting inter-ethnic, racial, and religious hatred, humiliating the honor and dignity of citizens, and insulting the feelings of citizens in connection with their religious beliefs.

Thereafter, the man posted flyers on the ad boards Studentska street in Kupyansk.

During the pre-trial investigation, a plea agreement was concluded between the Prosecutor and the suspect.

The court approved the agreement and found the man guilty of committing a crime under part 1 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and imposed a penalty in the form of restriction of freedom for three years without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities. At the same time, the court released him from serving a sentence with a probation period of one year. The court decided to destroy the leaflets.
