On 27 April 2021, Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar held a video meeting with Monsignor Mirosław Stanisław Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with States of the Holy See.
Vasyl Bodnar expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Holy See and His Holiness Pope Francis to the security situation in Ukraine caused by Russian aggression. It was stressed on the importance of efforts to end the conflict and to assist the affected population.
The interlocutors discussed the situation on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine with an emphasis on the humanitarian situation of Ukrainian citizens suffering from the arbitrariness of the occupying power.
