09.02.2022, 11:50

During a meeting with pilgrims at the Vatican on February 9, Pope Francis expressed gratitude to all those who responded to his call to pray for Ukraine.

This is reported by News from the Vatican.

"I would like to thank all the people and communities who united on January 26 in prayer for peace in Ukraine. We do not stop asking God for peace so that the tension and threat of war can be overcome through serious dialogue, and so that negotiations in the Normandy format can also lead to this. Let's not forget: war is madness!" the Holy Father emphasized.

Pope Francis, given the alarming situation around Ukraine, proclaimed Wednesday, January 26, is the day of prayers for peace.
