Gennadiy Mokhnenko, a pastor from Mariupol, founder and head of the largest children's Rehabilitation Center, "Republic of Pilgrim", and a network of Rehabilitation Centers for adults, announced a joint prayer with Pope Francis for Ukraine.

The pastor wrote about this on Facebook.

"It was a very interesting, deep conversation. About many things, but of course, most of all about Ukraine, about my native Mariupol. We prayed ... together with Pope Francis for our country," Mokhnenko wrote.

The pontiff asked him to lead the prayer, and after the word "Amen", he "continued it with tears in his eyes."

Mokhnenko was also amazed that on the eve of the funeral of his predecessor, despite being busy, the Pope found almost an hour and a half to communicate with the Ukrainian chaplain.

According to him, it was also about the post-war renewal of Ukraine.
