Poroshenko asks Bundestag to recognize Holodomor as genocide

“The president has urged the German parliament to recognize the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people,” he writes.

Tseholko has also noted that Poroshenko and President of the Bundestag Norbert Lammert agreed on the importance of continued sanctions against Russia until it fulfils agreements reached in Minsk.

As reported, on Monday Poroshenko is visiting Germany to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel.

Last week, President Petro Poroshenko appealed to the Finnish parliament to decide on recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of Ukrainian people.

On December 7, Ukrainian Parliament adopted a resolution to request the democratic nations of the world to recognize the Holodomor of 1932 - 1933 in Ukraine as genocide of Ukrainian people. This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda.
